Roy Carey FRPS, DPAGB, APAGB, BPE2*, our first speaker, is a member of Maidstone Camera Club. His talk is entitled “Myways”. Roy is a lecturer and judge in the Kent County Photographic Association. His work covers a diverse range of styles from simply observed elegant images to cleverly created digital images to sophisticated AV presentations and it has been widely exhibited. 17th July, Margaret Salisbury Prints Talk plus PDI Exhibition Selection at Whittlesford Memorial Hall, Mill Lane, Whittlesford, Cambs, CB22 4NE
The PDI Exhibition selection will be followed by Margaret Salisbury's presentation (see below). Margaret Salisbury, FRPS, FIPF, MFAIP, APAGB, a popular lecturer famously nicknamed "The Welsh Dragon", is well known for her landscapes, among her favourite subjects being the hills and abandoned slate quarries of her native North Wales. She is equally famous for photographing people in their own environment, her talk including pictures of a trip to Ghana for a wedding. In addition to the wedding, Margaret captured some wonderful images of everyday village life. Informative and entertaining, Margaret's reputation has been earned from years of helping aspiring photographers as well as from her own pictures. The 2011 PDI Exhibition selection then took place, followed by a viewing of the selected images. You are welcome to contact our Programme Secretary with suggestions or comments regarding our Programme of Events here: We are holding all our National Meetings in the Cambridgeshire area because it is centrally located to the majority of our members, who live in the East Anglia, South East, Central and Thames Valley regions. Thus, it is hoped, more members will feel able to attend. Foxton: Facilities: Blue badge parking bays, Accessible toilet with alarm, Hearing induction loop with instructions, Wheelchair accessible, kitchen for refreshments, but we only provide tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. Directions by road: Leave M11 at Junction 11 and travel south along the A10 Royston Road towards Royston. Whittlesford: Facilities: Full disabled access; kitchen for refreshments, but we only provide tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. Accomodation: Directions by road: Leave M11 at Junction 10 and travel east along the A505 towards Pampisford. Exhibition: The first showing of the Creative Group's 2012 print exhibition is at Wingfield Barns, a wonderfully restored set of barns set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside. Entry to the exhibition is free. The exhibition runs from Tuesday 3rd April until Sunday 27th May 2012 at: Wingfield Barns,Church Road, Wingfield, Suffolk IP21 5RA Tel: 01379 384505 www.wingfieldbarns.com Open - Tues to Saturday, 10am - 5pm Sundays and Bank Holidays, 11am - 4pm Closed Mondays Exhibition Acceptances New Galleries Many new galleries have been added recently by Chris Skinner, Anthony McAvoy, Gregory Vivash, Anne Quarry, Bob Faris, Chris Harland, Brian Doble and Roger Race as well as Distinction Panels by Keith Rose, Gill Beckett, Janice Payne, Ann Shaw, Peter Ellis and Sue Evans. Distinctions If any Creative Group Member has gained a distinction in the past year, we should like to hear from you and to display your distinction panel in our Member Galleries. Please select the “Galleries” link above or left, and choose “Submit your images” from the left side panel there.
