15th July, Alan Millward and Anne Sutcliffe Print Talks

at Whittlesford Memorial Hall, Mill Lane, Whittlesford, Cambs, CB22 4NE
- see Whittlesfordfor directions, meal arrangements, etc.

Alan Millward, FRPS, FPSA, Hon. PAGB is double fellow of the RPS with monochrome environmental people images, taken in the UK, and is also a keen colour landscape, nature and travel photographer. He has over 3500 international acceptances and judged at over 70 international exhibitions in seven countries. His photography is about observing the world around him and reacting to situations enjoying people in their own environment, always striving to build stories into images. Often he is searching for the one picture that can sum up a person, place or event. That is the power of the single image. Much of these thoughts also apply to travel photography. Similar to his people photography his nature work has to be wild live and free, and in a place of its own choosing.

Our second speaker, Anne Sutcliffe, is an invited member of the London Salon of Photography and the Eyecon Group. She is a member of Smethwick and Solihull Photographic Societies and a past president at Solihull. She is a keen exhibitor and has lectured and / or judged in six countries. Anne is past member and chair of the Royal Photographic Society's Licentiate assessment panel. At the end of 2012 she was promoted to the RPS Visual Art assessment panel and elected to the RPS Advisory Board

The Red Hat

Margaret Salisbury, FRPS, FIPF, MFAIP, APAGB, a popular lecturer famously nicknamed "The Welsh Dragon", is well known for her landscapes, among her favourite subjects being the hills and abandoned slate quarries of her native North Wales. She is equally famous for photographing people in their own environment, her talk including pictures of a trip to Ghana for a wedding. In addition to the wedding, Margaret captured some wonderful images of everyday village life. Informative and entertaining, Margaret's reputation has been earned from years of helping aspiring photographers as well as from her own pictures.
